| "M$NEY" by Asake album cover |
Avid readers of this blog knows that I pride myself on being cultured. However, I am human and I have missed out on many great artist for a variety of reasonable and unreasonable reasons. Such is the case with the subject of this album review, who is Asake. Music from the motherland has become one of my favourite and most listened to genres of music as of late. Acts like Tems, Wizkid, Ayra Starr, Yemi Alade, Tyla, Sauti Sol, Rema, Patoranking, Mr Eazi and many more are constant fixtures in my playlist. Yet Asake was never on those playlist. WHAT A SHAME! My introduction to Asake happened at the beginning of this year when he released a collaborative EP with Wizkid titled "Real Vol. 1". Yet, with the trials and tribulations of daily life in addition to running this blog, I never got the chance to dive deeper into his catalog. So imagine my surprise and excitement when I discovered that he had released a solo project just mere months after dropping the initial EP that was previously mentioned. So it was a given that I had to give it a listen and to review it for the album. With that being said let us see what Asake has in store for us with his fourth studio album titled "M$NEY".
