Album Review: "Beautiful Tragedy" by Ebony Riley

Avid readers of this blog knows I love a good looking man and woman especially when they are black. There is literally a whole segment dedicated to lusting after fine men and women plus I have no shame mentioning in other segments. Why does this matter? That is how I discovered the artist that is the subject of this review who is none other than Ebony Riley. I was introduced to Ebony Riley as Riley Montana on Instagram because I love thirst following beautiful dark skin black women. Riley was a high fashion model who found success in modeling for brands like Gucci and Givenchy, and walked the runway for Marc Jacobs and Oscar de la Renta. Then I noticed a sudden change as I saw her announcement of becoming a recording artist. Ebony Riley released her debut EP, titled "ebony", on February 1, 2023. The seven-track project marked her entry into the music scene. Now in 2026 the Detroit-born R&B singer-songwriter has released her debut studio album titled "Beautiful Tragedy" which is preceded by singles "Only You" and "Honest".

Denzel Spencer (born April 18, 1996), better known by his stage name Roy Woods (also stylized as Roy Wood$), is a Canadian singer, rapper, and songwriter.[2][3] He signed with Drake's record label OVO Sound, an imprint of Warner Records in 2014. His first two albums, Waking at Dawn (2016) and Say Less (2017), both moderately entered the Canadian Albums Chart and US Billboard 200. Woods has also founded his own collective, Unlock the Underground. Album Review: "June" By De'Wayne

I came across a snippet of the video on Twitter and decided to give the song a listening ear and I instantly feel in love. This new discovery filled me with so much joy because as an avid music listener I  always seek to expand my musical horizons to listen to genres I usually do not follow.
