EP Review: "REAL, Vol. 1" by Wizkid & Asake

REAL, Vol. 1 by Wizkid, Asake EP cover
Everyone loves when two titans of the music industry join forces to give the audience a collaboration. Yes, I am still holding on to hope that one day we will eventually get our RNB (Rihanna, Nicki Minaj and Beyoncé) collaboration although hell freezing over seems more likely at this point. Anyway, two giants of African music, Wizkid and Asake have gone the extra mile and given us not just a collaborative single but an entire collaborative EP titled "REAL, Vol. 1".

Afrobeats icons Wizkid and Asake just released their hotly anticipated collaborative EP REAL, Vol. 1. The new music arrives with a video for "Turbulence," wherein Asake and Wizkid party with a bevy of women amidst an Escheresque labyrinth.

The duo has been hinting at a joint project since last year, and released the Naija pidgin ode to partying hard "Jogodo" last week, which marries jaunty saxophone to woody polyrhythms. The song seems to be striking a chord with fans, running up 10 million streams in its first week on Spotify.
