Rewind: Pink (Singles Discography)

Recently the subject of this week's REWIND has been a hot topic on Music twitter. It was not for anything controversial that she had said or done but rather a quite stale (if I might say so) topic that gets brought up every few months surrounding her artistry. It is BEYOND exasperating at this point not only because it is a recurring topic but the opinions shared about said topic never evolve.

Here is my thought on the whole matter.

One can say the conversation in and of itself highlights the complexities of Pink's career. She was discovered singing R&B with the girl group "Choice" that she had formed, her first album was heavily R&B inspired but she deviated into becoming a pop rock megastar. There are many nuances that can be discussed in this controversy such as cultural appropriation, artist's rights, the predatory and money hungry music industry and so on yet my point remains pop rock Pink is far superior to R&B Pink. Anyway, here is a summation of her iconic career so far.

Pink has sold over 135 million records worldwide, making her one of the world's best-selling music artists. Pink is the most-played female solo artist in the UK during the 21st century, while Billboard named Pink the Pop Songs Artist of the 2000s Decade. Her accolades include three Grammy Awards, two Brit Awards, a Daytime Emmy Award and seven MTV Video Music Awards and two MTV Europe Music Awards. At the 63rd BMI Pop Awards, she received the BMI President's Award for "her outstanding achievement in songwriting and global impact on pop culture and the entertainment industry", and was honored with the People's Champion Award, the iHeartRadio Music Award Icon Award. Billboard named Pink the 2013 Woman of the Year at the Billboard Women in Music and honored her with the Billboard Icon Award and the Billboard Legend of Live. VH1 ranked her 10th on its list of the 100 Greatest Women in Music.
