EP Review: "PHOLKS" by Leon Thomas

Sometimes in life you just miss out on different moments in the culture or society. This same logic can be applied to music as they are many times you will miss out an epic album, performance, video etc. Leon Thomas and his slow but steady ascent into modern R&B saviorhood is one such case. Looking back, it seems that I have been missing out on Leon's talent for decades. Why do I say that? I have never seen an episode of the popular teen show Victorious which Thomas starred on for its entire three year run. To make matters worse, his hit song "Mutt" only appeared on my music radar in mid July after going viral for months. Also during my research I learned that Thomas achieved success in the 2010s as a member of the production duo the Rascals, winning a Grammy Award from two nominations. He has co-written and co-produced for several artists, including his Victorious co-star Ariana Grande, Babyface, Drake, Rick Ross, SZA, and Toni Braxton. Excerpt taken from https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Leon_Thomas_III Anyway there is a saying "that it's better late than never" so now that I'm here I am more than excited to see what he has to offer. So with that mind let us see what he has in store for us with his new EP.

Denzel Spencer (born April 18, 1996), better known by his stage name Roy Woods (also stylized as Roy Wood$), is a Canadian singer, rapper, and songwriter.[2][3] He signed with Drake's record label OVO Sound, an imprint of Warner Records in 2014. His first two albums, Waking at Dawn (2016) and Say Less (2017), both moderately entered the Canadian Albums Chart and US Billboard 200. Woods has also founded his own collective, Unlock the Underground. Album Review: "June" By De'Wayne

I came across a snippet of the video on Twitter and decided to give the song a listening ear and I instantly feel in love.
