Album Review: "God Does Like Ugly" by JID

My introduction to JID was his amazing feature on the song "Options" for Doja Cat's iconic album titled "Planet Her" which was released in 2021. That was the first and only time I have listened to him. Year after year would pass where I would learned that he released a project which I would try to give a listening ear but it just never happened. I do not know why! I love his contribution to previously mentioned song, it was clear he was talented, I have been wanting to listening to more Hip Hop/Rap music especially male artist not named Kendrick Lamar and J Cole so the desire was there but it never came to fruition. Honestly, I was about to scrap the entire album review because the album was sitting in my music library for a hot minute just collecting computer dust. However, after weeks of procrastination I decided to take the leap and listen to his latest album titled "God Does Like Ugly". The album boosts 15 tracks and features collaborations from artists such as Westside Gunn, Clipse, Vince Staples, Ciara, EarthGang, Don Toliver, Ty Dolla Sign, 6lack, Jessie Reyez, Baby Kia, Mereba, and Pastor Troy. Let us see what he has in store for us!
