Here is the deal! I am not the biggest Khalid fan. This is not due to me being skeptical of his talent or that I dislike his musical output. He is a talented artist that makes good music but I never connected to his music for unknown reasons. However for every rule there are exceptions. I do enjoy his song "Location" and I do
LOVE his collaboration with Normani on "Love Lies" mostly for Normani but his contribution cannot be overlooked. Additionally I have only listened to one of his studio album which was the deluxe version of his third studio album "Sincere" which I thought was good but not memorable. So you may ask why am I reviewing his fourth studio album titled "After The Sun Goes Down" if his music has not captured my interest. Then let us address the elephant in the room! Earlier this year, Khalid who had never addressed his sexuality publicly before was outed by a former boyfriend on social media. Khalid was gracious in his response to the betrayal plus it had to be satisfying to see most people take his side and "drag" his ex lover. So that is where my interest in this album comes from because I wanted to see if and how he would address the situation in his music. So with that in mind let us see what he has in store for us with his latest album.
