Album Review: "American Heart" by Benson Boone
I will admit that I was severely late on the Benson Boone train. Although I watch American Idol on and off, I missed his brief stint on the show so my introduction to him was via his 2024 hit "Beautiful Things". At first I thought the song was rather annoying especially because of the hooting and hollering done on the chorus. However, eventually the song recently grew on me to the point I can say without shame that I quite enjoy it. Even-though my initial thoughts on "Beautiful Things" changed, I still didn't listen give his album "Fireworks & Rollerblades" that was released the same year. Additionally, it may have seem that this pattern would continue as I was unaware of his sophomore album being released or that he had released singles to promote the aforementioned album. That was until they was a slight controversy on social media where people were debating his album cover and what it symbolized. Naturally, the scandal peaked my interest and nudge me towards finally listening to a full body of work by pop newest favourite gymnast. Let's see what he has in store for us this time!
