Album Review: "Let God Sort Em Out" by Clipse (Pusha T & Malice)

Image
"Let God Sort Em Out" by Clipse album cover  So I have a confession to make (I'm on my Usher s***) LOL! I'm not the most avid listener of Hip-Hop/Rap music. This is not due to any moral objection or personal taste issue with the genre but I naturally gravitated toward Soul, R&B and Pop music more. J. Cole was truly my introduction into the genre because his music just clicked with me and it did help that I had a massive crush on him. However, even with that huge crush, I still have only listen to two of his albums which are his debut album and 2014 Forest Hill Drive. Yes, I liked Drake, Nicki Minaj and a few others who were the main stays of the genre during my youth but I mostly know their singles that were released to promote their albums. Doechii is the only rapper I can say whose career I've followed and have been invested in from the start. So with that being said, it is not far fetched that I had no clue of a Hip-Hop duo called Clipse. I knew of Pusha T ...

Album Review: "Greetings From Your Hometown" by Jonas Brothers

Image
"Greetings From Your Hometown" by Jonas Brothers album cover The Jonas Brothers were a fundamental part of my childhood as much as  Aly & AJ  were as it was mentioned in my review of their most recent album "Silver Deliverer". "Burnin' Up" and "S.O.S" were a part of the soundtrack of my life when I was younger as I would run home after school, pick up my mother's hairbrush and pretend to be rockstar in my own little world. Surprisingly, although the trio had such a positive impact in my formative years, I have never listened to an entire album by the boy band. This fact shocked me and upon further investigation I discovered that I had not listened to many of my Disney mainstays discographies. Nevertheless, it's better late than never so with that in mind let us see what the group has in store for us with their seventh studio album titled "Greetings From Your Hometown". Also, the fact that I have not listened to most of m...

Album Review: "Virgin" by Lorde

Image
"Virgin" by Lorde album cover I have always loved music from an early age but I became and avid music listener in the 2010s. During the 2010s saw a new generation of new superstars rise and Lorde was among them. I adore several of her songs including Royals, Team, Green Light and yes even Solar Power. So it is quite strange that I have never listened to an entire body of work by her and yes that is include what most herald as her magnum opus "Melodrama". Thankfully that has changed in 2025 as I sit down to listen to her fourth studio album entitled "Virgin" which is preceded by the singles "What Was That", "Man of the Year" and "Hammer". Let us see what she has in store for us! Here's my review of each track on the album! 1. Hammer 🌟🌟🌟 2. What Was That 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 / ❤️‍🔥 3. Shapeshifter 🌟🌟🌟 🌟 4. Man of the Year 🌟🌟🌟 5. Album Review: "Woman In The Mirror" by Sacha

Image
Woman in The Mirror by Sacha album cover Ads can be such a nuisance! However, we have all had a moment where those pesky advertisements can be life changing. My discovery of the Canadian country artist Sacha can be counted as one of those life changing moments. After watching the video for "Later Tonight" by John Ross, YouTube played an ad of song called Shooting Star. Curiosity got the better of me so I went to the video to hear the entire song. Instantly I fell in love with the song and had to find out more about this new artist. Sacha Visagie, known mononymously as Sacha (or SACHA), is a Canadian country music singer and songwriter from Warkworth, Ontario. She is currently signed to Sony Music Canada. She has charted several singles in Canada, including "Hey Mom I Made It", "Til I Don't", "We Did", and "What the Truck". Album Review: "June" By De'Wayne

Image
"june" by DE'WAYNE album cover "She's a synthesizer, Orchestrates the band, She's got the whole world, Wrapped around her finger, She's a synthesizer, Baby don't you understand, She's my heaven she's my earth, She's my woman she's my man." Lyrics taken from  https://www.azlyrics.com/lyrics/dewaynejackson/synthesizer.html The song "synthesizer" was how I was introduced to the wonderful artist called De'Wayne. I came across a snippet of the video on Twitter and decided to give the song a listening ear and I instantly feel in love. This new discovery filled me with so much joy because as an avid music listener I  always seek to expand my musical horizons to listen to genres I usually do not follow. Therefore, coming across a Rock N Roll artist that I instantly liked was so exhilarating. I listened to the song until my own ears and music player got fed up with me and was even more elated when I discovered he was releasin...

Rewind: The Pussycat Dolls (Singles Discography)

Image
Some weeks ago a longstanding music record was shattered into several different pieces. What record was that you may ask? For twenty four (24) years, Destiny's Child had the distinction of being the last girl group to top the Billboard Hot 100 chart with their hit song "Bootylicious". That record was broken by the fictional K-pop girl group Huntr-x voiced by Ejae, Audrey Nuna, and Rei Ami with their song "Golden" from the smash Netflix movie "KPop Demon Hunters". Learning this fact surprised me because there have been countless popular girl groups since Destiny's Child such as Fifth Harmony, Danity Kane, Little Mix, BlackPink, Twice who I thought would have easily had a number one song on the chart given their popularity and massive hit songs. However, the group I was most shocked to discover did not have a number song on the Billboard chart and the subject of this week's TMC's Rewind is The Pussycat Dolls (PCD). It can logically  debated t...

Cynthia Erivo has amassed quite a career for herself that showcases her versatility as an artist. In 2016, she won the TONY award  for Best Leading Actress in a Musical for her role as Celie in the stage play of The Color Purple which also won her a GRAMMY for Best Musical Theatre Album the following year. Additionally, she won an EMMY for Outstanding Musical Performance in a Daytime Program for her performance with the cast of “The Color Purple” on NBC's “Today” show. Also, she has been nominated three times at The Academy Awards as recently as 2024 for her breakthrough performance in the film version of the stage play Wicked. She has decided to follow up all her success by releasing her sophomore album entitled "I Forgive You" which she expressed on  Negative Comments, Apologies, & Forgiveness | “I Forgive You”, the new album from CYNTHIA ERIVO  as the exploration of what it's like to leave a relationship. Album Review: "Silver Deliverer" by Aly & AJ

Image
If you grew up during the 90s and early 2000s, it's a fact that you grew up with the greatest children entertainment of all time. From Disney, Cartoon Network, PBS etc. we had it so good that we took it for granted. While it was during my late teens where my love for music truly blossomed, it must be said that early Disney and its music is what sparked my love for the art form. One such act that raised me is Aly & AJ. "Do You Believe in Magic", "Rush" and "Potential Breakup Song" were a part of the soundtrack of my childhood that still gets blasted at the top of my sound system to this day. So naturally when I heard that they had released a new album, I had to give it a listen. With all that being said let us see what Aly & AJ has in store for us with their sixth studio album titled "Silver Deliverer". Here's my review of each track on the album! 1. Silver Deliverer  🌟🌟🌟 🌟 2. What It Feels Like  🌟🌟🌟 3. Next to Nothing  🌟🌟...

Rewind: Adam Lambert (Singles Discography)

Image
For the second season of  TMC's SERIES  I explored my favourite contestants on the American version of the singing competition show The Voice. While doing each episode of the season it was mentioned that the show was my favourite because I was too young during the peak of the other mega singing competition show American Idol. Yet, that fact did not stop me from knowing and becoming fans of artist who were on the show such as Kelly Clarkson, Jennifer Hudson, Fantasia, Jessica Sanchez, Carrie Underwood, Jordin Sparks, Ruben Studdard, Joshua Ledet, La'Porsha Renae and the subject of this week's TMC's Rewind Adam Lambert. One of the running gags of the show and any singing competition for that matter is that the artist who did not win the show always often have more successful careers than the eventual winner and such is the case for Lambert. Adam Lambert consistently wowed the audience and judges even the notoriously cruel Simon Cowell every week with his towering vocals a...

Album Review: "The Crown" by Ledisi

Image
Ledisi is one the most brilliant vocalist and R&B artist of the last 20 years. However, for a myriad of reasons she has not received the flowers that are rightfully due to her. Not only does she deliver spectacular live performances where her voice transfixes the audience but quite an underrated part of her artistry is the incredible R&B/Soul albums she has delivered throughout her career. R&B has wane in popularity over the last decades yet Ledisi has been one of its best ambassadors so it is gratifying to see her still releasing music now that it seems that there is a slight resurgence in the genre. So, let us see what the R&B songstress has in store for with her latest album entitled "The Crown". Here's my review of each track on the album! 1. DAYDREAMING  🌟🌟🌟🌟 2. LOVE YOU TOO  🌟🌟🌟🌟 3. EP Review: "We Wanna Party (WWP)" by Tyla

Image
One thing you cannot say about Tyla is that she is not consistent. After releasing her debut album and winning multiple awards she has not stopped delivering hit after hit for her ever growing fanbase. This consistency is due to her hunger to be the biggest superstar in the world which she has boldly stated on numerous occasions. One icon she has mentioned as her main influence and template for world domination is Rihanna who has throughout her career made us dance. It seems that Tyla is indeed following in her footsteps by releasing her brand new EP entitled "We Wanna Party" which is also symbolized as "WWP". This EP is preceded by the singles "Bliss" and "Is It" so let's see what else Tyla has in store for us.  Here's my review of each track on the EP! 1. DYNAMITE  🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 / 🔥 2. MR. EP Review: "Somewhere New/What Now" by UMI

Image
One of my favourite musical finds this year has been the incredible artist named UMI. Her collab with 6lack entitled "Hard Truths" has been in my rotation since I discovered it as evidenced by its multiple showings on  TMC's Hot🔥10! . Naturally after discovering an artist I like my next step was to find out if they have released a full body of work like a mixtape, EP or an album. I was pleasantly surprised to find that she had released a 4 track EP entitled " Somewhere New/What Now" with her third studio album titled "people stories" to be released soon.
